Randy is a product of Career Tech education and began teaching automotive technology night class in 1985 then in 1987 started teaching full time after being pushed and prodded by his former automotive teacher David Webb (Retired from Metro Tech).

In the last 11 years his students have won the Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills contest  6 times at the state level and recently finished 2nd in 2009 just behind his good friend Jim LaFevers (EOC Tech), his students have placed as high as 7th nationally. Randy has taken many more to district, state and national SkillsUSA contests.

Randy currently serves as Past-President and also served as President for the T&I Association in 1999-2000.

In October of 2009, Randy accepted a new position as Adult Program Specialist Coordinator at Mid-America Technology Center. This position will move him out of the T&I area in the future he still remained a member for the 2009-2010 year.
